Lion Tactics

I read a familiar scripture today.. Short and sweet Yet, The revelation that
was given me was so deep. Can I share? Glad you gave me your permission. I
was reading 1 Peter 5:8. You know the one that says that we are to be sober
(self controlled) and vigilant (alert) because our enemy, the devil is on
the prowl like a lion, seeking who he can devour.. I broke it down so that
those who don't read the WORD can see where I am going. I went into thought
on how a lion hunts. Most of the time, they lay there, in the high brush,
letting their prey get close enough for them to pounce on them. Yep! He
waits until they are weak and vulnerable. That is how our enemy deals with
us. He sits from a distance and watches. Checks out our weaknesses and
what tempts us. He finds a way to get into our lives in ways that we never
see him sneaking up. He messes us up by giving us false opportunities of
fulfillment. Instead of running up on us, he leads to places where we end
up feeling helpless and defeated. Someone reading this has been bamboozled.
Know this. Not every opportunity is from God.. I tell my teens that Satan
has the ability and will open doors as well. He has a way to consume our
precious time with "good" opportunities so that we miss out on the "GREAT"
opportunities that God has for us. How does he do that? He finds a way to
create gaps between our priorities and commitments. It is time for us to
close the gap. Let us start to base our priorities on God's WORD and the
leading of the Holy Spirit so that the plans that HE has placed for us can
be fulfilled. I made such a mistake. I was given a vision for ministering
to the youth. When I did it as instructed, it grew greatly and all other
areas in my ministry as well. Then I allowed people to come in, try to tell
us how they think we should do things. That our commitments should be
focused towards other areas and slowly I watched things start to dwindle. I
ended up leaving a group of hungry kids kinda hanging. Yes, I remained
available but my commitment level was changed. It took God forcing the
situation to get my attention. Now refocused and recommitted to what God had
originally given me and my family to do, God has shown so much promise. I no
longer will commit to things that God has not given me to commit to. I had
to go back and evaluate my priorities. I now am seeing God restore the
ministry and placing us around even more youth and young adults than we had
before. I even see their parents and grandparents anxiously getting on
board. . So many of the young adults that I once taught are coming back and
are ready to help with the ministry. We are beginning to see opportunities
to minister across the country on several levels. Satan has a plan to keep
us from experiencing the full life that God has planned for us. He doesn't
always have to use evil devices to disrupt us. He will even use "good''
causes and even "good" people with "good" intentions. He is smart. Just
like the lion.. Let us pray that we choose the right opportunities in our
lives. The ones that God has set before us. So glad I woke up! Pretty
deep huh? I hope someone is fed through this.

Bless you,
Rev. Bee
