Where Does Your devotion Lie?

I revisited a familiar scripture this morning and looked once again at the devotion of Paul after his rebirth. Paul was given vision on the road to Damascus. When we are reborn in Christ we are given visions.. That is if we are listening to the Holy Spirit at all. Some of us have been given enormous vision. So big that it has scared some of us or we took it as some false perception due to it being so enormous. We tend to shun it and see it as something beyond our possible reach. We overlook the facts that God is a redeemer and The Holy Spirit is the power that enables and empowers us to do such enormous feats. The vision given is to help us become all that Jesus wants us to be. Everything that Jesus desires me to be can and will be attained through the Holy Spirit and my being obedient and devoted to HIM. Not any particular cause, but to HIM. We have no problem being devoted to a denomination, a job, a fraternizes, groups and sororities. No problem being dedicated to a cause or situation. We just struggle when it comes to being devoted to HIM first and foremost. When I looked at Paul, he wasn’t so devoted to a cause but to a person and that was Christ Jesus. Yes, he was given a task to do but he was devoted to his relationship which in turn empowered him to live out the tasks. Be a minister He saw nothing else.. Jesus is all he lived for.. My question is what are you truly devoted to? The job? The Bruhs? The Bishop? The colors? The cash? The popularity? The cause? The denomination? The team?... Is there any room left for HIM? Have we mistaken all of this for being devoted to HIM? The vision given may be enormous but if you stay devoted to HIM… Mission accomplished! Look at what Paul was told he was to do.. You know his background at this point.

16 But rise, and stand upon thy feet: for I have appeared unto thee for this purpose, to make thee a minister and a witness both of these things which thou hast seen, and of those things in the which I will appear unto thee;

17 Delivering thee from the people, and from the Gentiles, unto whom now I send thee,

18 To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me. Acts 26:16-18
