A Blessing In The Mourning

I revisited the Beatitudes and looked at the one about mourning…. It reads simple. It says that “Blessed are they that mourn, for they shall be comforted.” Matt 5:4. I was led to look into it for a deeper thought. I’d like to share this with someone. How does this sound? There is a blessing for those whose hearts are hurting, for those who are suffering in this world and for those who are also truly sorry for their sins and unworthiness before God. They will find comfort and joy in God. Looking at it this way, I see that we should be in a state of mourning for a few things. If we do truly hurt for these things, there will come a blessing through it. We should hurt for weak churches and church leaders… We should hurt for the ones who quit the struggle to stay in the fight to live right. For those who are so soon to forget that holiness is a requirement and hide behind the “all have sinned” scripture, instead of being truly repentant. We should be mourning for those who have tried church and when they got there, they were made to feel unwelcomed. For Christians who hide their light to fit into the world’s scheme. We are to be mourning because folks aren’t praying enough and preaching is so weak nowadays. Mourn because Kats are caught up in what title they can acquire in church over just being simple servants. Mourn over the fact that we have replaced Spirit filled worship with hocus pocus antics. Yes we should be hurting.. We should be concerned .. Mourn for these things.. There is a promise that in our mourning, God will bring comfort. I am truly praying that this nourishes someone this morning. Bless you!
