Avoiding Spiritual Infection and Disease

I was reading my WORD this morning and it so hit “ME’.. I am hoping that this is for someone reading this. It is funny how something that is good and beneficial to some can be bad for you. You hear stories of folks that live to be 100 and they say the only thing that they’ve done is smoke a cigar all of their lives. Well we all know that smoking is supposed to shorten your life. Let me use a better example of two. Penicillin has been used to kill disease and bacteria for years, but when given to my son when he was younger, it caused and allergic reaction. One that that if continued could have possibly killed him. We all hear of the benefits of eating peanuts. Well, my oldest daughter, if exposed could possibly die. It causes her airways to close. There are things in this life that we, for the sake of being fruitful, and successful must just stay away from. There are things that are no good for you but were designed to make you feel good. Then there are other things that have value to some but are deadly to you. So many folks die from overdoses of prescription drug use and abuse daily. Some things we just cannot be exposed to. We often see some of them as small things but I have come to realize and concur with the scripture which tells us that the small foxes spoil the vine. Speaking of me… There are places that I cannot go, things that I cannot do, people that I cannot expose myself to because they all could prove to be deadly.. Deadly to my ministry, my family, and even my soul. Now these things may serve others well but like the old song says, “what God has for me, it is for me.” I’ve had to learn that when I try to force issues that aren’t God ordained, I cause a reaction or reactions.. They tend to be very unhealthy and if not fixed or avoided, deadly. I look at my ministry. I know that God has many for me to reach, but I must first learn to be faithful over the few that HE has placed in my path. Every time I attempt to go faster than HE, I cause a terrible reaction. I set myself up for some failure. There are things that I am not supposed to be exposed to. When I do so, it affects not only me, but everyone in my close circle. Being a “man”, when God sends someone my way to tell me that my way was the wrong way, I’ve often rebelled, only to deal with the same reaction that I so much hated the last time. I was drawn to the end of Matthew 5. It was breaking down how you can have everything in order but if one part of you is out of sync of line, it can prove deadly. When you come upon such a thing, it is best not to nurse it… This is a about survival. You must CUT IT OFF!... I envision a plane crash victim, who survives the crash but is trapped under some large piece of the plane. HE must chose to cut off his arm with a knife or die where he lies.. The survival instincts kick in and he cuts away. Some of us need to cut away some of our attitudes, some of our ways and methods, cut off some of our associations, and stop going to some of the places we used to go. You can be going for the right reasons but if the environment is not geared for you, then you need to leave. I’ve come to terms that so many times I had been moving waay faster than God. I wasn’t mature enough for some of the situations that I found myself in. My methods weren’t GOD’s methods. I looked at the life of a deacon last year. Snuffed away because he tried to do this his way and not how God wanted him to do things. I cannot let that be me. Though I know what God has for me, I’ve decided to go at HIS pace and use HIS methods… To the one reading this… I am talking about survival… There are so places that you aren’t mature enough to be, some places that you weren’t meant to be, and some places where others can thrive and you’ll find famish. Find out where God wants you.. If you are in it for the right reasons and things are going wrong, then you need to seek GOD and most likely kick rocks and avoid what could be a deadly reaction. Cut it OFF, Be set Apart, don’t ignore the small foxes.. Get em out of there….

We are called out to be different and do different. Let’s step looking into what seems to be the “Current Way” of doing things and trust God’s Way. We are to just let HIM place us and once where HE places us.. We are to change this world.. If you are getting this… Say this and mean it.. “Lord, not my way but your way..” Here is a scripture to feed on:

13 “You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men.
14 “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lamp stand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. 16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.

Matthew 5:13-16

29 If your right eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and cast it from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell. 30 And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and cast it from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell.

Bless you,

Kai'
