Handling the Pressure

I am a basketball nut... One of the things I like is a strong defense.. Ask the Leavenworth Lady Pioneers what got them a State Championship and anyone who knows basketball will tell you it was DEFENSE. Nothing like putting the pressure on the opponent and watching them crumble. Alot of folks talked about the fact that we had four six footers but the real basketball fans talked about the teams defense.  Here is my nugget for today.

Was reading Ezra 5 and it talked about the building of the 2nd temple which began under Zerubbabel’s leadership.  Construction went for 2 years and ceased for 14 yrs.  Later Haggai and Zechariah got the Jews to complete the work. As the work continued the opposition to the work arose. When they couldn’t scare them out of continuing, the opposition tried to back door them by going to King Darius.  Either way, the work continued and God made a way.  Here is my nugget. When we go about God’s work and it is a great work, opposition will arise. When that opposition can’t scare you into quitting they will try to infiltrate your work from any and all directions. Don’t you give into the pressure! The bigger the task, the hotter the pressure cooker… Can you take the pressure or will you crumble?
