I recall the disciples and Jesus being in a small vessel and a storm came upon them. Jesus was in the stern of the vessel, asleep. The disciples panicked. They began to attempt to battle the storm. The storm didn’t let up.. They began to cry out and panic even more. Suddenly someone remembered that Jesus was on board. They approached Jesus… Panicking.. They’d ask if HE cared if they died.. Jesus got up in the midst of all the panicking disciples. The same ones who time and time again, witnessed HIS miracle working power… They didn’t stop panicking when they saw HIM arrive to the scene.. He had to get the situation under control… He said this: PEACE..(In other words, SHUT UP) … Now that HE had their attention.. He spoke to the storm and raging sea.. HE said “BE STILL”… I know that you may be going through a storm and you may have tried to fight it yourself.. Don't be surprised when the storm doesn't automatically let up when you attempt to fight it.. Jesus is in your midst… Stop all of your belly aching and whining… Stop all the noise making .. SHUT UP! And now watch how the MASTER of life’s storms, and seas handle your little problem…. If you want to do something to help, try speaking to your storm. Tell it to Stop, Be Still, Go Away, Cease and desist… I have found out that in my life, every time that I make up my mind to do something big, storms come. Hit my job, hit my family, hit my body.. If not conscious of the devices and tactics of the adversary, I begin to stress out. Feel sick in by body.. Lash out towards those who love me.. See the worse in the situation. All the time taking in deadly water.. Sinking in the situation.. Then, Praise God, I have been able to be reminded of a promise that HE will never leave nor forsake me or mine. That’s when I shut up… After I settle down, the Lord speaks… It may come across as being rude today but someone reading this initially just needs to SHUT UP.
