Time for YOUR COMEBACK!!!

I know that this is a long one but I advise you to slowly read this. It may just be for you...

I was thinking of my son today.. So proud of him.( I will say that today and want to knock him out tonight..LOL) He is back in school, looking to finish his degree in Engineering and take a couple of management courses. Over the years he has squandered some opportunities, allowed his focus to go in the wrong direction and temporarily taken breaks from doing the things that he was supposed to be doing as a student, an athlete, and a Christian man. His actions lately have shown me that he is ready and willing to make a COMEBACK…. I AM SO EXCITED AND PROUD. This past weekend he sat in a youth retreat that we ministered at. He was engaged and focused. He still is a clown but I know he was locked in. He made a resolution between him and God at that retreat. As he reads this nugget today, I want him to know that I am SO PROUD of him. I looked at my daughter’s basketball team at the high school. It has been a while since they had their glory days… They too seem to be on the COMEBACK trail. Something special about this team is the number of girls who profess Christ… They pray together, encourage one another in Christ. My daughter and few of them meet before school for a daily devotional. The Coach had scripture placed on one of their T-shirts (I imagine some folks didn’t like that..) The girls team hasn’t beaten a conference foe in 2 years or more. So far, this year they have beaten 2 out of 3. Folks are excited because they can sense a COMEBACK! Now my daughter, Alicia. She is a new freshman and on the Varsity basketball team. New coach… New system.. A new level of thinking and new challenges. She has been forced to look at her weaknesses and work on them. She struggled mentally with all of the above.. She now has embraced it all and now we can see a COMEBACK taking place. She is beginning to play the ball that she is capable of playing. We are excited because It is only the beginning. She knows that they have seen nothing yet. We talked about it and she has a new excitement about it all, where once she was struggling. I and my family had stepped away from quite a few ministry opportunities because of one excuse or another. Lately as we have been going out in ministry, it has been so rewarding. God has been smiling upon us and the feeling of this COMEBACK has been amazing. We have decided to go through every door that God has presented us and do as HE says.. To those who have missed us.. We’re BAAAACK! I want to reach out to someone who may feel like they let a great opportunity slip away. Maybe been struggling with change to the point that they stopped producing the goods that they know they are capable of producing. Maybe you feel like you missed out on a great ministry opportunity or job opportunity. Maybe you feel as if you blew a chance at a great relationship. You may have said that you wanted to be a better person in Christ because in all honesty, you had too many self inflicted flaws. Nasty attitude.. Judgmental.. Hateful…ect. Now is your time for a COMEBACK…. It will take dedication and resolve.. Don’t try to avoid your weaknesses.. Work on them… Look for God given opportunities and pursue them all out. I want to share this scripture with my family as well as whoever is in need of this WORD today. The Lord says to us in Revelation 3:8 the words that HE spoke to the church at Philadelphia. "I know your deeds. See, I have placed before you an open door that no one can shut. I know that you have little strength, yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name.” The believers in Philadelphia ran into so many obstacles and had many weaknesses but they never walked away from opportunities that God presented them and they never stopped working to strengthen their weaknesses.. They didn’t want to miss a blessing or bypass any of God’s open doors. They knew that they were special and didn’t take that lightly. They knew that serving God was a gift and because of that God blessed them greatly.( Read Rev. 3:12). For someone reading this, it is time for your COMEBACK! Begin to carefully look for the open doors that God is trying to show you. Without question, go through. Going through may require you to drop your attitudes and egos. To say, I apologize or to show love to someone who you consider hard or impossible to even like. You may have to work harder than you have ever worked in your life. Do things in a manner that you never have done before. Let go of some friends who are no good for you at the time. Tell a stranger that Jesus loves them and is a savior… Saying all of this…. Are you really ready to make your COMEBACK?
