Time to unify and depend on God's Wisdom

I was reading 1 Corinthians and got today's nugget. No, I wasn't searching for a government shutdown nugget. This text was where I was led today. When you read the book it talks about the Apostle Paul's concern about people's false sense of pride and the division amongst the people because of them focusing on other people rather than the Lord (refer to 1 Corinthians 1:1-17). Seems like a very on time message. We tend to look to the President too much. We put waay too much trust in him and the congressmen that we voted or didn't vote in. We look too much to spiritual leaders sometimes to the point where they really believe that you cannot get to God unless you go through them. The sun rises and sets on the pastor, prophet, evangelist, apostle ect. To some, they become mini-gods. Someone reading this will not like what I am saying because they are falling somewhere in this equation. Not my problem. This really sets us all up for failure. We then lean on their understanding and less on the true move of the Holy Spirit and the WORD of God. I have made that mistake before and was let down so hard that my faith was truly shaken. The wisdom of man/woman is not good enough. It is inadequate. Man cannot bring salvation, regardless of how they try to take credit for being God's instrument. Only the power and wisdom of God can bring salvation. (Refer to 1 Corinthians 1:18-31).

(Today's prayer) Father God, I know that every good and perfect gift comes from you and it is by your doing that we are in Christ Jesus. I look to you today to fix every malfunction in my life. I lean on your wisdom to fix our society. If I have any room to boast at all it is only in you. I put my total trust in you and only you. HAVE YOUR WAY TODAY AND FORVER MORE! LET THY WILL BE DONE ON EARTH AS IT IS IN HEAVEN. AMEN!

10 Now I plead with you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment. 11 For it has been declared to me concerning you, my brethren, by those of Chloe's household, that there are contentions among you. 12 Now I say this, that each of you says, "I am of Paul," or "I am of Apollos," or "I am of Cephas," or "I am of Christ." 13 Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Or were you baptized in the name of Paul? 14 I thank God that I baptized none of you except Crispus and Gaius, 15 lest anyone should say that I had baptized in my own name. 16 Yes, I also baptized the household of Stephanas. Besides, I do not know whether I baptized any other. 17 For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospel, not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of no effect.18 For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. 19 For it is written: "I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, And bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent." 1 Corinthians 1:10-18
