Walk Away!

My conversation with a young brother some time back sent me to David’s words again. The young guy was venting. He said it seems that the more he tries to live a peaceful life, folks work on pressing his buttons. He has previously struggled with his temper and had previous anger management woes. Look, I know that it is hard being people of peace nowadays. We feel weak when attempting to live a meek lifestyle. This world is getting crazier by the second. I ask God to teach us when to fight and when to walk away from one. As this guy spoke I recalled a verse that David spoke in Psalm 120. He said “ I am for peace; but when I speak, they are for war. “ Evidence that we aren’t the only ones who were faced with such issues. We don’t always have to beat someone down.. I recall a few times when I fought , won and still walked away feeling like a loser on the inside. Nothing was gained from it. Sometimes we need to simply walk way. The enemy is simply trying to set us up for failure. Why fight a defeated foe?
