What Does Love Look Like To you?

Hey Family,

I know you hear folks telling you that they love you. He said it to you... She said it.. You believed it.. Then you were disappointed. You even told the lie.. I don't think you meant to lie.. Let's look at a great description of love... Maybe this will help.

WHAT DOES LOVE LOOK LIKE?

Love is patient and kind.-Does that describe you? Are you ever impatient with you spouse, kids or those close to you? With that cashier who is moving slow or struggling to get your change right? With the waitress who got your order all jacked up? And kindness- After a long day at work and everything seemed to be going wrong. Do you take it out on your folks? Are you quick to speak a sharp word or tear folks down just because you aren’t having it your way? How many times have you hurt folks with your harsh words? Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude.-Did that step on any toes? Who just loves to boast on their accomplishments? Are you the type who doesn’t mind patting themselves on the back, forgetting that the accomplishment came only by God's grace. Love does not demand its own way.-This is really getting personal. What's wrong with demanding my own way when I am so sure it's the right way? But I guess that's not showing love. They think their way is right too. I guess I should listen to what they are saying. Love is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged.-Love aint cussing your people out or going into a rant. We really need to learn to forgive and put the past in the past. "It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out.-We need to work more on wanting truth and justice in every situation, even when the outcome is not what we think we want. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.-I know if I have God's love in me, I won't give up no matter what the circumstances. How about you?

1 Corinthians 13: 4-7..
4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.
5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.
6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

If you have someone telling you that they love you and you don’t see this, they are simply making noise. Verse 1 of the same passage says this: If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal.
