Who's the Greatest?

Let me start this nugget off with a question…. Who’s the GREATEST of ALL TIME? I have been dealing with a lot of people who tend to be doing their best to prove their superiority over others. Some claiming to be greater than another. I have seen folks in churches, claiming to be of higher status than others due to titles or appointments…. More anointed than others.. Smarter than others… It’s been funny. With my daughter and her basketball future, I have met coaches who claim to be better than others… More connected than others… But not many come across as caring for her welfare more than others. I then think of Jesus and the scriptures that I read today. Here He is, the son of God and his role played was SERVANT…. There were many great prophets, judges and kings in the Bible but the funny thing is none of them were greater than Jesus when it came to being a servant. He allowed himself to be nailed to a cross even though he knew that we’d disrespect him many times… Turn our backs from his brokenness.. The WORD says that he was a man of sorrow. Yep, He was despised and we didn’t even care. I know you are saying “I did.. I care.”.. Naah.. Check this.. He was wounded for our sins and not his.. The cross was so heavy because it contained our sins… He took a beating so that we could have peace.. He carried our weaknesses.. Most of all, because of that whipping, so many of us are now spiritually healed. I am so tired of boastful folks claiming to be the real thing.. The savior of me and my family. The one true way to our successes… Tired of folks claiming to be self proclaimed kings and greatness. I appreciate the servants who have come into my life and the lives of my family. Those who love and look out for us for no reason at all. Not bragging on what they have or who they know. I had a coach sit down next to me as he was scouting the varsity the other night for his junior college. He didn’t ask anything of me. He did offer to contact a division 1 school on my daughter’s behalf because he felt that she would be a good fit at their school. Not once did he make a pitch for his school. I sat next to him as he made that call and listened to the conversation. I have a friend who for no reason, linked my son up with a direct link to professional baseball. Didn’t want anything in return. He has been overjoyed with the fact that he knew someone who could help my kid. He went further and introduced my kid to an agent who appears to be very interested. This is not someone who I’ve known for years. He is a servant. I minister of the Gospel and humble.. God has placed many of this type of folks in my life lately. I am seeing so many examples which are telling me to focus on being a servant. He will make the least in others eyes the greatest. Thank God for the servants that HE has placed in my path. I most of all am grateful for the ultimate SERVANT.. As far as I am concerned, there is none greater than he… I call him Jesus!

Matt 20:28  The Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve

Isaiah 52:13  Behold, my servant shall deal prudently, he shall be exalted and extolled, and be very high.

Isaiah 53:2-5
2. For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him.
3. He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.
4. Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. 5. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
