You Can't Hide

Hey Fam,

On the way to work, I had something trigger my thinking today. This is for my young believers this morning but can also be served as a reminder to my older believers as well. I saw a young person this morning texting while driving.. As a police car pulled forward you could see them hiding their phone. The cop missed it. I began to think of the times that we do stuff and attempt to hide them or when we get so caught up in ourselves and situations and we don’t really care who sees us. Yet, we say that we fear God. If we truly fear God, we must understand that HE sees our every deed. Good and bad. Yes, the word that we use to describe that attribute in HIM is Omnipresent. God is everywhere. If we are to be true believers we should be seen with the characteristics of our Lord in us. Why do we wait till we get in church to want to put on our holiest depictions of who we are, when we are nowhere like that most of the time? Look, if we are trying to represent our Lord, folks ought to see love in us, honesty in us, patience in us, joy in us, maturity in us, law abiding citizens in us, peace loving people in us, selflessness in us, and integrity in us , to name a few. That is just a few things that you see in my Lord. We can’t put it on and take it off when we want and think that God does not see us. One day we must stand before a HOLY and RIGHTEOUS God.. One who will judge us accordingly… I will have no excuses for my misdoings and misrepresentations… I won’t be able to hide my evil deeds.. Can’t slide them under the dash or in a shout, sermon or song.. HE will be able to prove that HE was there all the time.. I want to encourage my young folks to live their lives as if God were sitting right there in their presence.. If not, our conduct, like texting while driving can prove to be wreckless and eventually deadly! Here and a couple of scriptures to just confirm the omnipresence of our God.

Psalm 139:8 (Words of David)
If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there.

Jeremiah 23:23,24 (God says)
Am I a God at hand, saith the Lord, and not a God afar off? Can any hide himself in secret places that I shall not see him? saith the Lord. Do not I fill heaven and earth? saith the Lord.

I Kings 8:27
But will God indeed dwell on the earth? behold, the heaven and heaven of heavens cannot contain thee; how much less this house that I have builded?

Bottom Line: There is no place that we go that God is not already there.

Bless you,

Rev. Bee
