Stability in an unstable environment

I was sitting here today , once again looking at the unstable state of the world . I looked at life as a federal employee. I can recall a time in which everyone saw it as one of the most stable places to be. Then folks got furloughed…. Furlough ended… Then.. Government shutdown… I’ve seen the stock market crash… Friends lose their jobs after decades of service… Rumors of attacking Syria… Folks still being killed in Afghanistan… Yet another area soldier was brought home this week.. Family had no money… I see so much panic lately. I ask the Lord “Show me what it takes to be stable in such unstable times and in such an unstable world.” All I know to do is draw from the WORD.. Here we go Psalm 1….(NIV)

1. Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, 2. but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night. 3. That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither— whatever they do prospers.

Psalm 1:1-3. Can I expound? Vs1. An upright(stable) Man/woman walks opposite the worlds system and does not walk under the guidance of wicked people. In the fellowship of the saints they stand uncompromising. You won’t find them chilling in the seat of mockers.

Vs2. They have a deep passion for the word of God and they make sure that plenty of it is in their minds. This keeps them from being double minded. You all know what the Bible says about a double minded man.

Vs3. The upright is consistent. Like I tell my kids “the proof is in the pudding’. Folks can say what they want but evidence of stability is present. Storms only cause greater transformation. Stable folks won’t wither away. They recover from the bruises that life issues them. Finally God’s favor is confirmed in their lives. Eventually, whatever they lay their hands on, success and prosperity follows it.

You’re looking for stability?

1. Walk opposite of the wicked system of the world. Stop walking and sitting with the wicked. 2. Love and live by the WORD of God. Stay true to it regardless of what happens. Stop going in the direction of every strong wind and be ye steadfast. 3. Be consistent.. Why? God’s got you. Stay true to Him and watch Him blow your mind! I Pray that this nugget helps someone regain their footing. Nothing’s wrong with the rough side of the mountain. You can get your footing there. I wouldn’t be so attracted to the smooth side. In the elements, it becomes a slippery slope.

Bless you,

 Kai
