On Which Foundation Do You Stand?

Hey Family,
I am going to piggyback on the message that my Pastor put out on yesterday. He dealt with trusting God. So many of us believe that God is God. That HE can do all things.. That HE is all wise, all powerful and everywhere. Yet, so many of us are not seated on the solid foundation when trouble arises in our lives. When it comes to our health, our money, our relationships and YES, our kids…. We want to feel that we are in total control of it all and when we see that we aren’t, trusting God is one of the last things that we choose to do. Whether you want to admit it or not, your college degrees, your muscle bound bodies, your sharp tongue, or your good looks will not hide the fact that you are resting upon sinking sand, without real trust in God. You may find that when problems arise, you feel like you are so far from God. That is because your lack of trust has created such a distance that you either cannot hear HIM or you do not want to. Yes, you have trust issues. You give a great shout on Sundays that all is lining up for you but you act out of character or go to the woe is me corner when true tests arise. God is a convenience or cute term for you at times. Why not try truly trusting HIM.. This is a part of the basics of any strong relationship.. TRUST.. Do you really think that you are more dependable? Do you think that your man or woman is more dependable.. Your actions speak louder than your words… Some of us have Skyscraper dreams and talents but they can’t survive being built on nothing but sand…. You can trust God with your health, your relationships, your money, your talents, your heart and YES your family.. Trust HIM… Learn what His will is for your life. Stop creating so much distance between you and HIM with your trust issues…. Where do I go? I GO TO THE ROCK… Anyone remember that old school song with the timeless message?

Matthew 7: 24-29
24 "Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts on them, may be compared to a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 "And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house ; and yet it did not fall, for it had been founded on the rock. 26 "Everyone who hears these words of Mine and does not act on them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. 27 "The rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house ; and it fell -and great was its fall." 28 When Jesus had finished these words, the crowds were amazed at His teaching ; 29 for He was teaching them as one having authority, and not as their scribes.
